Cranogwen

Sailor. School Mistress. Poet. Lecturer. Preacher. Editor. Campaigner. Friend.

At a time when women were expected to stay at home, quietly sewing, this special woman took a very different path. At the age of 26, she became a chief poet, much to the amazement of every man that applied, for her poem on marriage, though she herself never married. Sarah Jane Rees became famous not only in Wales but in major English cities and in parts of America. But yet, after all her travels and preachings she would always return to her square mile - to Llangrannog. Why? A show about an unique woman, multi talented and unusual. Here’s the story of Cranogwen.
